Kayak Trips

By taking a kayak, you can explore caves, enjoy the gentle ocean breeze, or stop and take a Koh Yao Noi snorkeling adventure. There are kayak stops at a Muslim fishing village and James Bond Island. It’s possible to see bald eagles, seals, and colorful birds. Trips for beginners or children are available. It is a good idea to take a sack lunch and snacks, so you do not get hungry when out on the water for a half or full day. With numerous deserted islands don’t forget to take a few moments and admire the scenery.

Scuba Diving

You can schedule a dive in certain sites around the area, including shark point, King Cruiser Wreck, and anemone reef. The public has access to an assortment of options like shark, night or cave diving. It’s also possible to take classes for a scuba diving certification. At the pier, the water is so clear schools of fish are easy to spot. The natural beauty of stunning rock formations, beautiful corals, and fascinating marine life can take your breath away. If you go to Koh Yao Noi, scuba diving is one of the activities you need to consider.

Go to the beach

Koh Yao Noi beaches are pleasant with many opportunities to explore. Lining the beach are vendors selling food, drinks, and souvenirs. Some beaches are somewhat muddy, making it difficult to swim, but there are great places to snorkel and marvel the island. For easy access to great beaches I recommend choosing an accommodation like the Coastal Escape.

Take a Cooking Class

You can take lessons from an experienced chef on how to make different types of food. While cooking, chefs give tips on using Thai herbs and spices, so your dishes will be delicious. Many of the Koh Yao Noi resorts offer these classes. You might be provided with an apron and hat, so you will feel like a real culinary artist.

Shop

One of the most popular shops is Ohm Shop on Sale. The owner is friendly and sells t-shirts, trinkets, beer, and many other items making it easy to take a souvenir home. The prices are reasonable, and it is a great place to purchase a memory inducing trinket.

How to Get There

The quickest route from Phuket Airport to Koh Yao Noi, airport taxi is the only option leaving Phuket Airport and costs 500 Baht one way. In Phuket, you will find two main piers one in the Northeast of the island (Bang Rong Pier) and one in the Southwest in Phuket Town (Chianwanich Pier) with speed boats. I chose Bang Rong Pier because of close distance. Speed boats cost 200 Baht one way and the journeys takes roughly 25 minutes. Ko Yao Noi has no public transport so you’ll need to hire a taxi or rent a car.

November through April attracts many world guests desiring to escape the colder temperatures that typically occur from fall into spring. May through October is typically considered the rainy season. However, rain does not occur every day.

Koh Yao Noi Island can offer vacationers the holiday of a lifetime by finding peace and tranquility and creating everlasting memories.

4 Comments on Things To Do in Koh Yao Noi Thailand

  1. Koh Yao Noi sounds like my ideal beach. It does not have a lot of tourists. I would love to attend a cooking class by the beach. I like Thai cuisine a lot.

  2. Koh Yao Noi seems to be as pristine as the other islands of Thailand. But the best part is that it doesn’t look as crowded. To be honest, I heard of it for the first time. I am going to add it to my Thailand trip plan.
