UPDATE: Cafe Drama in Seoul is permanently closed.
Seoul is an area of great entertainment where you can indulge in sheep cafes to raccoon ones. Korea is the land of convenience where you can get anything delivered any time and anywhere. One cafe I was looking forward to visiting was a princess themed cafe where you are served a drink, given a book with prom or wedding type dresses and given a tiara if you so choose. I wandered to Cafe Drama near Ewha Women’s University.

About the Cafe Experience
This cafe has a small drink menu, but is sure to satisfy you! We went in the winter so we ordered honey citron tea (a healthy choice for all you weight watchers). You must have your drink in the cafe area. No food or drink is allowed outside that area. You must finish your drink and do your make-up before you go try on dresses or have your drink after you try on dresses.
While enjoying your drink, you are given a book with prices of the dresses. They run from 15,000 to 35,000 won. At the bottom of each new price section is a different colored angel in the corner of the book with the price. (It’s a bit pricey in my opinion). If you are a size 4-8 in dresses you should be fine with any selection, but for bigger girls like myself who wear a size 12 (and have a big bust), they have limited and more expensive options. They also have shoes available, but if you’re above a size 8 US, you won’t find a shoe in your size. If you want, you can bring your own shoes. It all depends on what you like. If they don’t have a dress in your size, you can still enjoy the cafe and a drink for 5,000 won.

After drinks you are taken to the back and put into your dress. The lady who helps you is super friendly and nice. She’ll do your hair for you as you sit and admire your pretty little self in the mirror.
When you venture inside the cafe, it’s pretty exciting. They have different themes inside the cafe to suit your style. They have Princess Zones if you choose a western dress and an Eastern Zones if you choose a hanbok. In my experience, any type of dress looks great in all these zones. This cafe is definitely worth checking out and a super fun time for everyone. This cafe is great for couples looking to take wedding or cute couple type pictures. For more information, check out their website: http://www.cafedrama.com. Would you check this cafe out?

Dresses
- Wedding Dresses 15,000-35,000 won
- Prom Dresses 15,000-35,000 won
- Short Dresses 15,000 won
- Tuxedos 15,000-35,000 won
- Drama and Traditional Hanbok 35,000-75,000 won
The only downside to the dresses is they have a very Prom 2008 feel. If you want to relive your prom memories with your girlfriends, I think this is a marvelous opportunity. It appears as if the dresses haven’t been updated in awhile, but they’re still beautiful and lovely. Make sure to check the dress before you try it on. My friend’s dress had a rip on the side.

How to get there
Take the train off Line 2. Get out at Exit 1 and walk 3 blocks down. You’ll see a huge corner building with a furniture store. If you’re unsure of where you are, the name of the street is Shinchonnyeok-ro ģ ģ“ģė”. Make a right and walk down two blocks. Look down. It’s a bit difficult to spot the cafe because you have to go down a flight of stairs, but you’ll know it’s there from the vibrant pink walls outside the cafe.

It’s no joke that winter in Korea is cold and makes you want to crawl into a hole and never peep out. It’s an amazing thing that these funky cafes in Korea give you an excuse to go out and have a great time. Besides, deep down on the inside, you know you’re royalty so why not give this cafe a try?
