Map of Seoul’s Skating Rinks

Map thanks to Wanderlog, a vacation planner

1. Banyan Tree Ice Rink (반얀 트리 아이스링크)

The Banyan Tree Ice Rink is a super bougie place to go ice skating. During the pandemic in 2020, Banyan Tree had to change it up and instead did a German inspired snow village. Since Banyan Tree is a five star hotel, the price will match the ambiance, but it is well worth it. It costs about 38,000won to get into the ice skating rink. 2. CoEx Ice Rink (코엑스몰 아이스링크)

Every year, the CoEx brings a different theme to the ice rink displays. In 2019 there was a Chanel Christmas display. The CoEx always invites prominent artists and brands to showcase their holiday spirit. Tickets for this ice rink start at 3,000won. The CoEx ice rink operates on a time slot basis. Every timed entry is only for a half hour so the rink won’t be crowded. Pro tip, if you go across the street to the Park Hyatt and have high tea in the lounge, you can get an amazing view of the ice rink below.

3. Lotte World Ice Skating Rink (롯데월드 아이스링크)

This is another popular place for ice skating in Seoul. Once you get a ticket for the park, admission into the rink is included. You can get your tickets for Lotte World at a discount here. The Lotte World Ice Skating Rink is an indoor rink, but that natural lighting coming from the glass dome above. It gives it a beautiful and serene feel. Plus, it’s amazing to see all the Christmas decorations during the holidays. This ice rink is available year round though so you can see the decorations change along with the seasons.

4. Grand Hyatt Seoul Ice Rink (그랜드 하얏트 서울 아이스링크)

If you’re looking for luxury, then ice skate at the Grand Hyatt Seoul ice rink. The entire space is decorated with twinkling lights on the trees and you can even order a hot chocolate or two. It costs about 30,000 won to enter on the weekend, but trust me, it’s worth it. The Grand Hyatt Seoul ice rink is a perfect winter date spot. Most hotels in Seoul do winter stay packages and the Grand Hyatt is runs promotions for Christmas and New Year’s. You can book a Christmas stay at the Grand Hyatt here.

5. I’Park Mall (현대 아이파크몰 아이스링크)

This ice rink is open on the 4th floor every winter. It’s not that big so if you have kids, this would be great for a family outing. I really love all the cute Christmas decorations and photo zones. It costs about 5,000 won for entry and skate rental. Just be aware there are a lot of noisy and boisterous children whose parents let them run around like crazy. (Seriously, it’s a hazard for the adults.)

6. Olympic Park (서울 올림픽 공원 스케이트장)

Every year, Olympic Park opens their ice rink to the public. It’s one of my favorite places to skate as you get incredible views of the Lotte Tower and the Olympic Park arches. It costs about 5,000 won for entry and skate rental.

7. Seoul City Hall (서울특별시 청사 스케이트장)

This is one of the most photographed and popular places to go ice skating. The rink in front of Seoul City Hall is enormous. It’s is located right in the Seoul Plaza. Entry and skate rental costs about 5,000 won. You can also order snacks here and you can even take pictures in front of their huge Christmas tree.

8. Sangnam MBC Skate Rink (상암 MBC 아이스링크)

If you’re familiar with Korean TV broadcasting, then you’ll definitely know what MBC is. They opened up their very own ice rink in the district of Mapo. It costs about 5,000won for entry and skate rentals. You can also buy some snacks nearby. The rink operates in 1-hour time slots with 30 minutes of ice cleaning time in between. The first session is 10:00am to 11:00am and the last one is 8:30pm to 9:30pm.

9. Yeouido Ice Park (한강시민공원 여의도스케이트장)

The Yeouido Ice Park is pretty large, covering an area of 2000 square meters. This is one of the cheaper rinks to go to as it costs only 1,000won for a 90 minute skate session. They also offer skating classes. Close by, there is a snow sledding hill, snow playground and other fun winter activities available around the area for everyone to enjoy!

I hope you found some really cool ice rinks to visit this winter in Seoul. Christmas in Korea is an enchanting time. Whenever someone asks me if there’s anything to do in winter in Seoul, I honestly always get so excited. Christmas is the best time to visit Seoul because there’s so many events to attend and places to take photos.
