Autumn Instagram Hashtags

Instagram allows for 30 hashtags per post. Use them wisely. What a lot of people don’t know about hashtags is that if they’re oversaturated in the millions, you have less of a chance to be seen. Try to go for hashtags that are in the 10k-100k range for better discovery. Here are some ideas you can just copy and paste.

Autumn Photoshoot Ideas

1. Basic Betch

Who doesn’t like pumpkin spice latte in autumn? I know I sure like to have one. The aroma is just so magical coming from your tumbler on a crisp fall day.

2. Big Heart

I think this is one of the cutest fall instagram picture ideas and you can do so many variations of it. It’s so easy to do in your back yard or at the park. You’ll probably also need a step ladder and a friend to help.

3. Carve a Pumpkin

This is one of my favorite autumn activities. Carving pumpkins is a great way to spend time with family and friends. It’s also really sets the mood to anticipate Halloween. The more carved pumpkins, the more you can put in your photo.

4. Cozy in Bed

This is a favorite I see on Instagram year after year. Everyone can relate to wanting to stay in bed, curled up in a warm blanket, watching a fall movie, and drinking some hot tea or cocoa.

5. Fall Fairy

This is a super fun spin on the leaf dress. Find some long leaves or cut out small pieces of a bigger one with scissors. Have one person place their hands in front of the camera while the other person poses. To create this photo, I purchased fall leaf photo overlays from Etsy since I mostly shoot alone.

6. Fairy Lights

Fairy lights are a cheap and easy way to spruce up any photo. These are the fairy lights I use in case you were interested. You can put them around chairs, in the grass, and make a heart with them as well.

7. Fall Picnic

I prefer having picnics in fall compared to summer. In summer, it can get sticky and hot. Plus there’s bugs everywhere. While there still may be bugs in fall, at least you have more layers so you don’t feel them on your skin. All you need is some fallen leaves, a picnic blanket, a basket, pumpkins, and other cute props you can find in your house.

8. Get Cozy

Rejoice because you don’t even need to put on pants for this one if you don’t want to. I usually use plastic decorative pumpkins because they’re easy to store and save for next year, but you can use real pumpkins for this photo too. Pop in your favorite film and you’ve got yourself an easy cozy fall photo.

9. Go Somewhere

Fall road trips are the best. It’s also an easy idea to pull off. For this photo all you need is a map, cozy outfit, a drink, and your furry friend.

10. Halloween Aesthetic At Home

Not really down to go out and be wild on Halloween? Are you one of those people that prefer to stay at home and have a Halloween Party for one? All you need are some balloons, your bedroom and a Halloween mug. Sounds easy enough!

11. Heart Leaf

This idea can easily be done via a photo editing app or with scissors. To create this photo, put on your coziest clothes, grab a maple leaf, and then put it up to your face. This idea is great for days you don’t want to put on makeup. Plus people really love photos they can insert themselves into.

12. Kendall Jenner Inspired

I’m honestly not a fan of Kendall Jenner and think she’s the most spoiled mean girl on the planet; however, I love the inspiration for this photo based on her original one. You’re gonna need a friend to help you on this one to arrange your hair and snap the photo, but it will be amazing! Take this fall photo dirty hair day because your hair is probably going to stink after.

13. Leaf Dress

Another super easy photo to achieve. Get a real leaf off the ground or a fake leaf. I use these artificial maple leaves because they’re reusable (and they look perfect no matter what). You can have a friend help you take the photo or you can do it yourself. The way you do it yourself is by using your own hand and then merge the photos in Photoshop or in your favorite photo editing app.

14. Leaf Hair Accessories

One trend that never goes out of style are beautiful flowers or accessories in your hair. I love this idea of putting a fall flower bouquet in a half up and half down romantic hairdo. I personally have this fall leaf hair accessory and I adore it!

15. Polaroid

Get your polaroid camera and a leaf. Find a nice pathway. First, you should take a photo of you holding the leave with a cut out. Then, take another photo holding the leaf, polaroid camera, and photo. Alternatively, you can take these photos separate and combine them in Adobe Photoshop.

16. Pumpkin Smoke Bomb

Another pumpkin photo but with a different take. You don’t have to make the photo move for this to be really cool. Carve yourself a Jack-o-Lantern and get some smoke bombs.

17. Fall Stroll Through Nature

Who doesn’t like a fall stroll through the woods? This photo is easily achievable with photo editing apps and a clear umbrella. Grab your cutest autumn outfit and get ready for a walk.

18. Sit in the Leaves

Another classic photo you don’t have to work hard to achieve. It’s a great way to show off your fashion and make your feed more aesthetically pleasing.

19. Snuggle With Your Pooch

You can also snuggle with your cat if that’s what makes you feel better. Or your iguana. Whatever floats your goat. I’ll always be the crazy dog lady through and through. This is another great home photo shoot that showcases the joys of staying home on cold days. #teamsnuggle

20. The Leaf Balloon

If you got some advanced Photoshop or phone editing skills, this is another easy photo to make. Pretend like you’re going to fly away and add a big leaf as your balloon.

21. Where To Next?

This photo can be done with a world map and props from around your house. Get creative and use what speaks to you. Fall is a great time where many people start thinking about where they want to go when Christmas rolls around in December.

22. Pumpkin Bike

I didn’t have the ability to go into a full forest because I was living near Seoul which is a super big city. Instead I got creative and had a friend help me out with this picture. I truly loved the end result and can’t wait to try this pumpkin bike fall photo idea again.

23. Go To a Pumpkin Patch

From what I noticed, a lot of pumpkin patches have several photo zones around them. They make for cute setups and easy photos you don’t have to string together yourself. This photo was taken at Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up in Chicago.
