Oh Korea… The Land of the Morning Calm and most importantly the land where all the fun happens. This is the country where the rich and famous play, romance flutters in the the air, and a city that never sleeps. Most of us fall in love with Korea at first for its music and dramas, but then we learn to love so much more about it.
As an avid consumer of many things Korean, I fell harder for Korea after seeing how romantic Korean men could be by dating one and through the entertainment industry. Besides, the nerd in me loves to fangirl over the most romantic Korean drama film locations in Seoul. Just think about how overtaken with the feels you’ll be after standing in the place Jun Ji Hyun stood when playing Cheon Song Yi in My Love From the Star at Petite France. I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it… And if you’re not… Then, you’re not human.

La Petite France
Located about an hour outside of Seoul, but it is totally worth the trip to Gapyeong. If you’ve never been to Europe then your eyes will gaze upon beautiful homes you’d find in southern France. Many famous Korean dramas were filmed here including My Love From the Star and Secret Garden. The theme of the amusement park is flowers, stars, and The Little Prince. At La Petite France, you can enjoy a variety of cafes, photo opportunities, and shopping while getting your European experience in the Korean countryside. Namsan Tower
What would we do without Jun Ji Huyn’s romantic dramas My Love From the Star or Legend of the Blue Sea. Namsan Tower was originally a broadcast tower and has been open to the public for around 40 years. It’s a famous spot to venture with a partner and put a lock for everlasting love. Don’t worry if you forgot a lock, there’s plenty of places around to purchase one. If you want, head up to the observation deck and also reserve a fancy steak dinner for two at The Grill.
Cost: Free (unless you go to the observation deck and get dinner)
Address: 105, Namsangongwon-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
Han River Cruise
If you couldn’t tell, I’m kind of #obsessed with the drama, My Love From the Star. All the action, suspense, romance, and excitement literally gives me the fangirl chills. Remember the scene where Cheon Song Yi gets white girl wasted on the cruise and almost falls off drunk but Do Min Jun saves her from a watery grave? It was filmed on the E Land Cruise outside of Yeouinaru Station. Depending on what time you go, is how much the price will be. There’s three options to choose from during various times of the day: the story cruise, music cruise and fireworks cruise. I have yet to try the fireworks cruise, but I heard it’s a stunning sight. I can highly recommend the music night cruise at 7:30 pm. You’ll get a wine spritzer and an open deck on top to enjoy Seoul as the sun sets and lights up with romantic night views.
Cost: 15,000 – 35,000 won
Address: 290 Yeouidong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul
DDP LED Rose Garden
The Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a huge hub for fashion week but it’s where the artsy go as well. Around the plaza in summer there are comfy chairs to lay around in and even pianos to play. You’ll see photographers, models, and Seoulites hanging around. Korean drama fans will recognize this as the filming location in The Producer. Thousands (21,000 to be exact) of led roses light up this garden into the night. It’s probably one of the most beautiful spots in Seoul for a shameless photo session or a magical date.
Cost: Free
