Instagram allows for 30 hashtags per post. Use them wisely. What a lot of people don’t know about hashtags is that if they’re oversaturated in the millions, you have less of a chance to be seen. Try to go for hashtags that are in the 10k-100k range for better discovery. Here are some ideas you can just copy and paste.

This should definitely be a staple when it comes to summer Instagram picture ideas. All you need is the sun, sand, a book, and an umbrella. Then, bam! You can get down with your bad self.
2. Be a Mermaid
This is another one of my favorite Instagram summer photo ideas because all you need is the beach and an imagination. You can easily use an app where you can doodle and add sparkles.
3. Heart of Seashells
Need some beach photo ideas for Instagram? Just go seashell collecting among the beach and find enough to make you a heart of them around your head. Lay down in the middle, find yourself a friend to snap the pic, and you’ve got yourself a masterpiece.
4. Eat a Watermelon
If you don’t like watermelon, just know, I am side-eyeing you right now. As one of the most popular and cooling summer snacks, nothing says summer quite like this fruit does.
This is one best photo ideas for Instagram because you can take a picture eating it on a lake, at the beach, or in a lawn chair. Get creative because Pinterest and Instagram love seasonal content.
5. Seashell Bra
Calling all mermaids. While Ariel from The Little Mermaid has been rocking the seashell bra since the 90s, you don’t have to DIY or order one. All you need is two cute seashells and a cute outfit.

Is it rainy where you are? It’s most certainly rainy by me as well. Use the rain as your inspiration and do a different take on it.

This photo is so much fun and also easily achievable. Go out into nature (because we all need a bit of it in our souls), look cute or wear a rainbow shirt.

This is one of the most fun parts of summer! Going to a drive-in movie theater is the best way to social distance and have a unique experience. Bring your own snacks, dress up cute and sit on the hood of your car. It’s that easy.

Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh. Any Nickelback fans here? Only me? Okay. This is another easy photo to achieve because all you need is a photo frame, nature, and a cute outfit.

Since we’re thinking summer here, we have to go with sunflowers too! They bloom most beautifully in summer and you’ll find a lot of sunflower fields or festivals in your area.
15. Have a Backyard Pool Party
Do you have any idea how many cute inflatable pools there are on Amazon? I’ll let you in on a clue. A LOT. Some of them come with slides, are colorful, and even have a place where you can attach the hose and make a sprinkler.
16. Tie Dye @ The Grocery Store
One of my favorite creators on Instagram is @Margusha. She’s a German creator who can make going to the grocery store look amazing.
Just look at her work the shopping carts in her tie dye. She always has great photo ideas for Instagram and they can be easily done at home. You don’t have to travel great lengths.
17. Make a Flower Crown
This is a great idea for you to do in quarantine and you can snap a picture and show your achievements to the world.
18. Play With Your Bike
It’s time to dust off your old bike and take it for a spin. You can add a basket with flowers and pretend like you have someplace to go.
19. Play With Your Roller Skates
Back in the 90s, it was a popping party idea to have your birthday at the roller rink. It was even great for school field trips.
I still think roller skates are cool and can be used as amazing props. You can easily find roller skates at a second hand store.

Road tripping in summer 2020? A lot of people are. You don’t have to drive too far south in the United States to find some palm trees. Style your hair in bubble braids, get a hat and a cute outfit. Use a tropical flower as a prop as well. The ideas are endless for a photo like this.
