2. The Salty Donut

This super popular Miami donut shop has finally made its way to Austin. Stop by for some tasty desserts and great coffee! The mural was painted in 2021 by Allison Kunath and it features creamy pastel colors with soft geometric shapes.

Photo Tip: Take pictures here during the week because it’s busy on the weekends. If you’re looking for bright pictures in Austin, definitely wear a neon color or blue to contrast with the wall.

3. Love From Austin Mural

The Love From Austin mural is another favorite mural on South Congress. It’s tucked in a little alley between Bird’s Barbershop and Prima Donna. This is one of the best places to take pictures in Austin if you wanna show off your trip.

Photo Tip: Wear something bright (and avoid dark colors). Since this is a black mural, you’ll want to pop.

4. SOCO

This mural is located in front of Vinny’s BBQ. The SOCO Mural is easily one of the most Instagrammable places in Austin due to the vintage and bright look of the mural.

Photo Tip: Go early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid harsh light in your photo.

5. Kendra Scott Flagship Store

The Kendra Scott Flagship store takes its Austin mural Instagram game seriously. This mural used to constantly change, but the you’re the, “You’re the Yee to my Haw” has been a staple for awhile.

Photo Tip: You can go at any time of day since it covered by trees. You won’t get any harsh lighting.

6. Radiate Like The Sun Mural

There are always new places to take pictures in Austin. The Radiate Like The Sun Mural is one of the newest ones I’ve seen on South Congress. It’s right next to a really awesome candle shop called Society.

7. Tequila Made Me Do It Mural

The street art in Austin is always pretty happening. This is definitely an Instagram worthy Austin mural. We’ve all had crazy nights playing with Jack, Jim, or Jose… Needless to say we all blamed it on the latter.

8. Smile! Even If You Don’t Want To Mural

Even when you’re having a bad day, this sign is reminding you to smile! There’s always an open air market during the week. Stop by and check out some cool items.

9. Willie For President

This mural is the most noteworthy Willie Nelson mural in Austin. He’s one of the most popular figures in Austin because he chose to make it his home in 1970.

Photo Tip: Use the wide angle lens on your phone or camera for this photo. I took mine from a low angle to create this picture.

10. Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

Mr. Rogers changed history on his show. Many of us grew up with the TV series and look back on his show fondly. Of course, we have to remember to be a good neighbor just like Fred. Don’t forget to stop by and grab a slice at Home Slice Pizza which is also one of the most Instagram worthy places in Austin.

Photo Tip: This mural is located on the side of Home Slice Pizza. Go in the morning before Home Slice opens up because cars fill up the parking lot.

11. I Love You So Much Austin Texas

As far as Austin wall murals go, this is the most photographed one. The I Love You So Much mural in Austin is the cherry on top of the Instagram murals. It’s located right next to Jojo’s coffee.

Central Austin Murals

12. Tau Ceti Mural

This ten story mural is Austin’s largest one. You literally can’t miss this Austin rainbow mural because its so big and in your face.

Photo Tip: I used a .5 on my iPhone to fit in the entire mural.

13. Peace Love Austin Mural

This mural in Austin stands out with all the iconic symbols. When you think Texas, I’m sure cowboy boots and Tejano culture comes to mind. This is my favorite Austin TX street art.

Photo Tip: This mural isn’t time dependent and you can go whenever. Be aware there are a lot of homeless in the area.

14. The Sunset Room

The Sunset Room is a gallery-style event space in the heart of Austin’s Convention Center & Historic Sixth Street Districts.

Photo Tip: Go late afternoon. In the morning, the shade of the trees is covering the mural.

15. Mexic-Arte Museum

I gotta represent la cultura here. I noticed the Mexic-Arte Museum in downtown Austin definitely changes up their murals. They’re honestly so beautiful and there’s always security going around to protect the art.

16. Big Chiller Blues

I love how the entire wall is made up of blue tiles. It’s definitely an interesting art sculpture in Austin.

Photo Tip: Wear something bright to give you a great contrast between the wall and yourself.

17. Historic 6th Street Mural

Nothing screams Austin aesthetic the way the Historic 6th Street Mural does.

Photo Tip: Take a photo from across the street or use wide angle on your phone or camera lens.

18. Pavement and Modern

Pavement and Modern is a popular Instagram spot in Austin. Not only does the building have vibrant art on it, but it has some awesome vintage deals as well.

Photo Tip: Since this is a very popular vintage shop, the best time to go is around 8am before the shop opens. I went around 10am and there were quite a few cars in the lot. To get unobstructed Austin Texas wall art, I took this photo on an angle.

19. Flamingos Vintage and Pound

Pink and purple are some of my favorite colors. I love the flamingos in contrast with a lot of desert wildlife and flowers.

Photo Tip: You can go at any time of day. It’s not busy. Be sure to get yourself some gently used vintage clothes too!

20. Click

As a photographer, I absolutely adore this mural. I experience the world through my camera and this mural truly spoke to me.

Photo Tip: There is very little space on the sidewalk. I put my tripod in a parking space and snapped photos that way.

East Austin Murals

21. Till Death Mural

I really love the concept of this mural and there are several around Austin. I felt like it was such a good idea to take Honey. Because unfortunately her life isn’t as long as mine. Only death shall part my precious fur baby and I.

22. Cute Nail Studio

The Cute Nail Studio has one of my favorite east Austin murals.

Photo Tip: Avoid going on the weekend because there’s a lot of people taking pictures on Saturday. Try to go during the week. Go in the morning or really late afternoon.

23. Lefty’s Bird Mural

I found this mural completely by mistake while I was looking for the coolest things to do in Austin for Halloween. This is on the side of Lefty’s Brick Bar.

Photo Tip: I suggest going in the morning because there is a lot of foot traffic during the day.

24. You’re My Butter Half

The You’re My Butter Half Mural is notable in east Austin street art.

Photo Tip: There’s picnic benches in front of the mural. You can either sit on the picnic bench and take a photo or place your camera on the picnic bench to get a photo like I did.
