A Court of Sugar and Spice
If you’re looking for a spicy Christmas romance book, then A Court of Sugar and Spice by Rebecca F. Kennedy is the Nutcracker reimagined. Clara and Louisa are sisters who have their inheritance restricted until their marriage.
They are sent to live with their godfather Drosselmeyer. An accident brings to life the wooden Nutcracker in his home…who happens to be a cursed Fae prince.
Both sisters journey to the Far Realm, where Clara encounters the handsome Sugarplum Faerie, who promises to grant her most forbidden fantasies. Meanwhile, Louisa and the Nutcracker Prince bicker over everything. Throw in a dash of “the entire Seelie Kingdom is at stake” from the Rat King ruler of the Dread Court, and you have yourself a spicy retelling of the Nutcracker.
A Hunt So Wild And Cruel
This spicy A Christmas Carol retelling is a great idea for the festive season! A Hunt So Wild and Cruel by Rebecca F. Kennedy is about Queen Lauriel who hoards wealth and persecutes anyone with magic.
This Scrooge even cancels the Midwinter Glee festival, claiming it wastes the Crown’s money. For the three riders, visiting the Queen is a welcome reprieve from their existence as bodiless spirits. But if they fail in their task, their place in the Wild Hunt is at risk, and the alternative is a far worse fate.
The Plight Before Christmas
If you’re looking for free Christmas books for Kindle Unlimited, then put The Plight Before Christmas by Kate Stewart on your spicy Christmas books list. This novel has a hilarious main character with sharp wit and a love for Christmas puns.
Clark Griswold is one pissed elf who wants to shit in Santa’s stocking after all the bad luck she’s encountered this year. With another breakup, a broken toe, and a promotion she didn’t get, she’s ready to tackle the holidays in her grandma’s ancient cabin…
With the help of the three wise men; Johnnie Walker, Jack Daniels, and Jim Beam.
Her brother shows up with his new bestie… who happens to be her college boyfriend and first love, who smashed her heart like an icicle.
Clark downs one cup of eggnog too many and finds herself sleeping with Satan’s wingman on the eve of the Lord’s birthday. This was one of my favorite steamy Christmas romance novels to date!
Tis The Season for Revenge
Tis the Season for Revenge by Morgan Elizabeth is one of the best holiday novels for those who love a good revenge story. Abbie Keller changed everything about herself to be the perfect girl for Richard Bartholemew Benson the Third. (Pretentious name for a pretentious asshole, amirite?)
After years of dating, Abbie never doubted his grandmother’s engagement ring would end up on her finger. However, the douche canoe dumps her outside her apartment on Halloween.
Like all us gals with broken hearts, we do what we do best… call our friends, get drunk, dye our hair, and formulate a revenge plan… and the opportunity arises with Richard’s hot boss, Damien Martinez.
Big Nick Energy
Big Nick Energy by Morgan Elizabeth is a grumpy sunshine steamy holiday romance. Shae is a single mom of two girls who visits Connor Finch’s Christmas tree farm for the holidays.
After Shae meets his golden retriever cowboy dad, who is full of the Christmas spirit and tells her daughters all about the stupid elf on a shelf. Shae pulls Connor aside and rips him a new asshole about yet another responsibility the divorcee doesn’t have time for this Christmas holiday.
Feeling terrible, Connor drives two hours every night to bring the magic of Christmas to Shae and her family. I could definitely see Big Nick Energy being a Hallmark Christmas movie!
The Fake Out
Bring the magic of the season with another good book featuring a revenge plot. The Fake Out by Stephanie Archer is about a physiotherapist for the Vancouver Storm who seeks revenge on her shitty ex-boyfriend by dating his rival…
Only to find that this pro hockey player may not be faking his feelings at all. Hazel Hartley quickly learns that beneath the bad boy swagger, Rory Miller is sweet, funny, and protective.
He teaches her to skate and drops hella money on her. Not only that, Rory convinces Hazel to break her one-time-only hookup rule.
This is the perfect read for those who love a fake relationship to find their perfect match.
Jack Frost: An Immortal Warriors Romance
Our next dirty Christmas story revolves around a mythical being we all knew to bring winter… Not steam it up.
Whoever thought Jack Frost would be sexy? Certainly not I, but we’re talking tall with blue eyes.
In Jack Frost: An Immortal Warriors Romance, a young scientist goes on an expedition to Antarctica and almost freezes to death. After leaving Jack’s fine frosty ass in the South Pole, Emery thinks everything is over and done with…
Except he follows her home and is the object of his affection.
The Christmas Tree Farm | Tiktok – Make Me Buy It!
Looking to get that true love holiday cheer? Me too! TikTok made me buy it, and I’m so glad they did!
Santa Claus is bringing the holiday spirit this time of year with the adorable Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore. Kira North hates Christmas and just bought a Christmas tree farm in a snowy small town too cute for its good.
Enter Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor, taking a break from his disastrous dating life in California. After a run-in with Kira in her fields, Ben has no intention of offering to help the grumpy owner set up her tree farm, but you know how these romances go…
Kira has no idea what the hell she’s doing and Ben is just the guy to help her usher in a white Christmas. 😉
The Merriest Misters
The Merriest Misters by Timothy Janovsky is about couple Patrick Hargrave and Quinn Muller who have been married less than a year. Sadly, their passionate romance has been cracking under the pressures of domesticated life and a cumbersome mortgage.
Well, their marriage is about to get a major facelift when Patrick wakes Quinn up with: “I think I’ve killed a man.” The burglar Patrick knocked out is none other than the merry fat man himself.
Now they have to team up to save Christmas along with a grumpy-as-shit little elf. What could possibly go wrong?
Make The Season Bright
Make the Season Bright by Ashley Herring Blake follows Charlotte Donovan who was ditched by her ex-fiancée at the altar five years ago. But fuck that shit because she’s an awesome woman who has her own life and a found family in the Rosalind Quartet.
When Charlotte heads to Colorado with her bandmate for the holidays, she runs into her ex, Brighton. While they try to pretend they don’t know each either, things get difficult when horseback riding and cookie decorating come into play.
Brighton can hardly hate Charlotte for hating her after what she did, but can these two find their way back to each other?
Santa’s Hit List
Santa’s Hit List by Quinn Hawthorne has enough sexual tension to melt the snow outside your window. As far as steamy romance novels go, this is one of the best new releases of 2024 and I’m not mad about it.
Fair warning, this is not for the light of heart. This book has no romance and has several triggering themes so be sure to check them before diving into the most fucked up 12 Days of Christmas you’ve ever experienced.
Basically, the main character has been on Santa’s Naughty List for five years in a row. She’s the shittiest of the shitty and now must endure being bound by ribbons and at the mercy of his sadistic reindeer shifters. In this fucked up North Pole, survival is the only gift worth mentioning.
P.S. The “Run little ho, run” was the best part of the front of the book. And yes, I do like my stories dark.
Gifted To His Dad
If you like books with multiple love interests, you must read Gifted To His Dad by Jessa Wilder. This quick read will deliver all the cozy holiday feels with the luxury cabin in the woods setting.
When Eve’s boyfriend Cole invites her to his stepdad’s cabin for Christmas, never in her wildest imagination did she imagine she’d get the holiday party of a lifetime.
Tangled in Tinsel
If you’re a fan of workplace romance, Tangled in Tinsel by Trilina Pucci will tickle your fancy. Imagine a reverse harem novella with the main character being snowed in with four super hot and successful men.
Jace, Reed, Alec, and Cole have all shared women before and they’re about to make Samantha the main course. This is a hilarious and seriously spicy read with a lot of witty banter.
The Christmas Notch Series
The Christmas Notch Series by Sierra Simone and Julie Murphy is one of my favorite holiday romances. They’re that perfect balance of an ugly Christmas sweater or three, holiday parties, and heartwarming stories.
Bee Hobbes (aka Bianca Von Honey) has a successful career as a plus-size adult film star. With a huge following and two supportive moms, Bee couldn’t ask for more.
After being cast in a family-friendly, squeaky-clean Hope Channel Christmas film, her career is hopefully about to take off… Except for the fact her childhood crush Nolan Shaw is her co-star and she’s still hopelessly attracted to him.
The Christmas Pact
Who doesn’t enjoy a Christmas love story? In the Christmas Pact by Vi Keeland, Riley Kennedy already has a bad impression of her coworker from another division, Kennedy Riley.
She ignores his unsolicited advice until they come face to face at the company Christmas party… And he’s hella hot.
He’s able to charm her out on the dance floor—and convince her to participate in his crazy scheme: he’ll go home with Riley for a Christmas party and pretend to be her boyfriend if Riley agrees to be his date to a wedding.
Love in Winter Wonderland
If you’re looking for clean Christmas romance books, then check out Love in Winter Wonderland by Abiola Bello. I’m not super into YA Christmas romance books, but this one stole my heart.
Set in a London Black-owned bookshop, handsome Trey Anderson balances the pressures of school popularity with a job at his family’s beloved local bookshop, Wonderland. Ariel Spencer needs tuition for the prestigious art program of her dreams, and an opening at Wonderland is the answer.
Except the gentrifying neighborhood assholes wanna kick them out. They have until Christmas Eve to figure it out.
The Christmas Fix
The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score comes highly rated on Goodreads and it’s not hard to see why! Reality star Cat King has come in to save the day after a late-season hurricane fucks up her little town of Merry, Connecticut.
Grumpy town manager Noah Yates is not about it and is really against her bringing the camera crews in even though that would save Christmas. These enemies to lovers sure know how to rub each other in all the wrong… and right ways.
The Midwinter Bride
In the Midwinter Bride by Kati Wilde, Princess Anja of Ivermere offers herself up as a bride to Kael the Conqueror, a barbarian warlord who’d won his crown by the bloodied edge of his sword… Except she intends to secure a kingdom of her own even if she has to kill the Conqueror.
She didn’t expect Kael to reject her and send her back. Kael has no use for a bride who would only tolerate his kiss. As they travel back, Kael learns the beautiful sorceress’s secrets and becomes determined to win the princess’s wary heart.
The Mistletoe Pact
The MistleToe Pact by Joe Lovett is one of those Christmas novellas you just can’t put down. Two single thirty-year-olds. One marriage pact.
And a one-night stand in Vegas that’s about to change everything… Now these are dirty Christmas stories we can all get behind… All puns intended.
On Christmas Eve eight years ago, Evie and Dan made a pact: if they weren’t married by thirty, they were going to marry each other. Of course, neither of them took it seriously.
Dan has always thought Evie was pretty, and Evie has a thing for her brother’s best friend.
Wreck The Halls
In Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey, Melody Gallard is the daughter of music royalty. However, she spends her days restoring old books and avoiding the limelight.
When a producer offers a pretty penny to reunite her mother’s band on live TV, Mel wonders if it’s time to rock up her life. We then meet Beat Dawkins, the lead singer’s son, who can charm the pants off anyone.
When they met as teenagers, Melody felt an instant spark, but it’s nothing compared to the intense attraction that builds as they embark on a madcap mission to convince their mothers to perform one last show.
Window Shopping
Window Shopping from New York Times best-selling author Tessa Bailey is a standalone book that takes place in New York City during Christmas.
Two weeks before Christmas in Manhattan a dashing stranger asks Stella what she thinks of the Christmas decor. When she responds, “it’s a tragedy in tinsel,” Aiden Cook, the CEO of his family’s store Vivant asks her to be the window designer.
Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend
Now did this Christmas romance book hit me in the feels. I could relate a lot with the main female character who feels like love is attainable for everyone except herself.
As a lady who is now in her 30s… Many of my friends are in serious relationships, engaged, married, and/or have kids. One of the things I’ve always wanted was to go on a love journey and find my person.
But the grass is always greener right? Rowan has an evil ex who is a complete dirtbag and loves to string her along. Her friends do their best to set her up on dates that go horrendously wrong every time…
While Rowan may have given up, her friends haven’t. Enter the male romantic lead, Alex. With his soft Scottish accent, infectious grin, and blue eyes as twinkly as fairy lights, Rowan wouldn’t mind finding him in her stocking this Christmas…
You’re gonna love this romantic comedy! Add Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend by Sophie Ranald to your reading list for Christmas.
Icebreaker: A Novel
Icebreaker by Hannah Grace is about a figure skater named Anastasia who has been working her entire life for a shot at Team USA in the Olympics. This has been popular among the BookTok community and it’s easy to see why!
A facilities mishap means Anastasia and the hottie captain of the hockey team, Nate, are forced to share a rink. Nate’s focus as team captain is on keeping his team on the ice.. and Anastasia can’t stand him. This is an excellent enemies-to-lovers romance.
American Christmas: A Multicultural Romance
American Christmas by Adriana Herrera is an amazing book for truly showing the true culture of my beautiful home country. Denpo Myint “Yin” Thuta is living the dream—a good job, a supportive community, and a loving relationship with his live-in boyfriend, Ari.
With big plans of his own in the works to surprise Yin, Ari may or may not have gone overboard. Or forgotten to check their respective schedules…
Lovelight Farms
Lovelight Farms by Pippa Jayne is one of my favorite Christmas novels for adults. If you love the fake dating trope, friends to lovers, and small-town charm, then this is for you.
A holiday romance is the best food for a good social media story. Enter Stella Bloom who enters a contest with instafamous influencer Evelyn St. James hoping to save her Christmas tree farm.
With a $100,000 cash prize, the last thing Stella wants to do is lose. To make the farm seem like a romantic holiday destination, she lied on the application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend.
Only there is no boyfriend…And that’s where her bestie Luka Peters comes in and gets dragged into the holiday shenanigans.
Holiday Romance
I’m a sucker for any Christmas novella that takes place in Chicago. Because legit… Chicago is magical at Christmas.
Christmas stories of love always have a bit of heartwarming magic. And this is exactly what this Christmas romance book has.
In the Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh, Molly and Andrew are trying to fly home to Ireland for the holidays when a freak snowstorm grounds their flight. For the last ten years, Molly has spent seven hours and fifteen minutes sitting next to Andrew, drinking terrible airplane wine and catching up on each other’s lives.
Andrew is a full-on fanatic for the festive season, and she knows how much getting back to Ireland means to him. (As a past expat in South Korea, I can totally relate.)
Molly vows to get Andrew home in time for his mam’s famous Christmas dinner.
The Christmas Blanket
Coming up hot on your best Christmas novels for adults list, we have The Christmas Blanket by Kandi Steiner. If you enjoy reading about a second chance at romance, then this short holiday story is for you.
I know we’re all short on time during the end of the year so put this on your list of Christmas short stories for adults. When Eliza returns home to Wellhaven, Vermont, for Christmas, she gets the Christmas gift that keeps on giving… A fucking blizzard and not the Dairy Queen kind.
She hasn’t been home in four years since she set her eyes on adventure and left everything behind… Including her handsome ex-husband, River Jensen.
After Eliza’s rental car slides off the icy road, she gets stuck in a cabin with River… And being inside leaves nothing but time for them to get to know each other all over again.
A Court of Frost and Starlight
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas takes place during the winter solstice and Feyre’s birthday. You didn’t think my best adult Christmas book recommendations would come without a nod to the romantasy queen, Sarah J. Maas, do you?
If you’re looking for novels with a Christmas theme, then this has got it. ACOFAS has chapters written from each of our favorite character’s points of view. The book follows Feyre as she navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady.
Her friends and family have more emotional wounds than she anticipated… which have had an impact on the future of their court.
I hope you enjoy this spicy Christmas romance books list. After all… Nothing like a dirty Christmas story accompanied with your eggnog to warm your filthy mind up.
