Seoul Blogger Brunch for Korean Beauty

What happens when you get a bunch of creatives and influencers together to promote and share love for Korean beauty? Simple, the Seoul Blogger Brunch. Since coming to Korea, I have been interested in Korean skin care and beauty. It’s the best in the world because it’s super affordable and wonderful quality. Every brand has it’s own unique motto and approach to beauty. As humans we are all so different and there’s so many skin care and beauty brands because one size doesn’t not fit all. (Contrary to the popular belief that clothes are like that, skin care is not.) 

I had the opportunity to meet many YouTubers, Bloggers, and Instagrammers the beautiful Hearth Cafe. It has a very warm and cozy atmosphere which was perfect for socializing. The more intimate (and free flowing the wine) the easier it is to meet others, hang out with friends and meet others that share your passions. While I was in the cafe, I felt like I was in a New York establishment. All the staff spoke English and I’ve seen this awesome layout in many cities where space is limited. Despite the setting, the high windows were wonderful for selfies and getting our photos taken by the amazing event photographers.

This plastic surgery clinic is very famous because Doctors Ban, Oh, Park, and Lee have been featured as primary care doctors for the TV show, Let Me In 5 on seasons 2-5. On the show, they healed heartbroken people who have suffered from their appearance and guide them in regaining their confidence and self esteem. They offer a wide range of customizable plastic surgery options as well as the latest surgery equipment. Banobagi’s motto is to provide honesty from beginning until the end. Banobagi has worked with top notch dermatologists and plastic surgeons to create the Bano face masks. Featured in the goodie bag were anti-oxidant injection to replenish nourishment to rough skin, baby face for younger looking skin, water glow for moisturizing and hydrating dry skin, and white jade for brightening up cheerless skin. In addition we were given the Bano Day and Night cream which provides brightening and anti-wrinkle.

Be Mused Korea

The owner of Be Mused Korea, Lisa, has a philosophy that natural ingredients can only help us so much. While natural ingredients are more gentle for our skin, they can only do so much. We need that extra power to really achieve the flawless skin we want. Lisa personally selected with care and tested all of the products her online shop carries. She’s so confident about and stands behind every single one that every ingredient and product description is in English. As a foreigner in Korea, I can personally attest to how frustrating it can be to shop the K-beauty aisle only to not know what the product does and what’s in it. The store will carry products from Mastiha Shop, Merbliss, Earth’s Recipe, OneoSeven, Atoclassic, and many more!

If you’re like me and suffer from oily skin and breakouts, then these are products geared for you. The name comes from cosmetics + RX so the products are strong and prescription strength.They use nature’s finest ingredients and science to make products specifically geared for their customer’s needs. They may not be the most well known, but the one with the biggest heart will always win in my book. If you’re looking to get plastic surgery in a more intimate setting with a doctor who really treats patients like family, then this place is for you. They carry out a variety of procedures and the staff do speak English.

This brand builds it’s name on the small but simple beauties of life. Think of a latte at a cute cafe, a picnic with loved ones or watching movies in bed. The hyggee is a lifestyle of Denmark that searches for happiness in every day simplicity. Rather than having complex beauty routines, they strive for all in one skin care. Their logo also reflects the mission statement and the dots on the packaging are in braille because they seek to find inner beauty as well. I’m looking forward to trying their new all in one soap which was an exclusive of the brunch and gifted to influencers.

Tiam

I’ve had the opportunity to try the Tiam products and so far, I’m absolutely in love. The My Signature pure Vitamin C 20% extract is meant to help those with acne prone and hyper pigmentation. Whenever I get pimples on my jawline, they always leave dark spots and scarring. This helps with lightening scars and marks and I can already see the improvement in my skin. I also really enjoyed the pink bubble face mask. When you put it on, you let it turn white and bubble to get all the crap out of your skin. It’s a wonderfully cleansing 10 minutes.

The customized 1:1 skincare prescription provide’s today’s skin solution through chroma, aroma, and herb therapy. This helps give holistic treatment to every skin. Influencers were given three wonderful products to try. First,  we were given the Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing which is targeted for acne and sensitive skin. The cleanser has no oil which makes it more friendly to sensitive skin because it removes oil and dirt without skin stimulation. In addition, we received the H+ Cocktail Moisturizing Ampoule for acne and sensitive skin. This product is super interesting because you mix it yourself for the perfect moisturized skin. What’s cool about Wish Formula is that they are a bio-venture company that focuses on developing functional cosmetics based on fermentation science. At the brunch, they provided us with the blackhead and black mask home spa kit, bat eye mask, Vitamin C Bubble peeling pad, pro ampule pad, panda eye essence mask, and face masks with Centella honey. I had the opportunity to try out the blackhead and black mask home spa kit and I really like the way it got in deep to my pores and took out the blackheads. I’ve never seen my pores look so clean! P.s. If you’re looking for a great cleanse, the Vitamin C bubble peeling bad is bomb. It really cleaned out my pores and left my skin feeling super clean.

Wishtrend was inspired by the skincare concerns of consumers. It’s kept my skin hydrated and it doesn’t feel dry after cleansing at all.

I’m super excited to try all of these amazing products. It’ll take me awhile to do reviews on them, but I’m sure I’ll get to them all. So far, I’m #obsessed with the My Signature C Source which is pure vitamin c 20%. It has been doing wonders for my skin and really helping my acne. I’ve also tried the Cosrx cushion and a little definitely goes a long way. Since it’s made for lighter skin, I’ll definitely be using it in the winter when I fade to a pale color due to the lack of sun. These companies and services are wonderful and perfect for foreigners living in Korea. Many companies are striving to make a wave in the west and just do you know Korean beauty isn’t only for the Asian market. It’s been making a huge impact on my skin.
