Who hasn’t read the iconic story by Lewis Carol? If you haven’t get on that, but I’m sure you’ve seen the Disney version, right? Everything good happens in Gangnam and Miss Yoon in Wonderland is no exception. It’s tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with a lot of independently owned restaurants and cafes. Most of these are western food like pizza, pasta, and ribs. #yum

Back to Miss Yoon in Wonderland. I guess Seoul can be a wonderland of sorts for the dazed and confused but who’s judging? Korea put their own spin on the iconic series with their decor and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love the aesthetics of this restaurant, cafe, bar, and club.

P.S. For the Kdrama fans, Hwayugi, Nothing to Lose, and Fight for My Way have all been shot here. (Like you needed any other reason to go anyway.)

About the Miss Yoon in Wonderland Experience

This is seriously a great place for a meet up with friends, a birthday party, or a date with a lover. I’m seriously gonna fan girl and gush about how amazing the decor is. Everything from the concept to the interior design was perfectly planned. My compliments to the owner because they spared no expense in making this place amazing.

When you walk in you’ll be greeted by a ceiling completely decked out in yellow roses and the bottom of Alice’s skirt and legs. Anyone up for painting the roses red? Hanging from the ceiling are other dress lamps that perfectly fit in with Alice.

There are four levels to this establishment. The first is a patio and restaurant area where you can order food and drinks. Fair warning, the food and drinks are on the pricey side. Snacks are a bit more reasonable as I paid 10,000 for a slice of cake and a drink. (The cake and drink were okay but I wasn’t even upset because this place is just so Instagrammable.)

This place isn’t cheap and for a good reason. You’re paying for the atmosphere, location, and service. A beer can cost you upwards of 15,000 won. But #soworthit.

The second floor is a meeting area with comfy chairs and tables. While the third floor is a smoking and bathroom area. The fourth floor is honestly where it gets super fun. Who doesn’t love a good rooftop bar?

The Rooftop Bar

This was my favorite part of Miss Yoon in Wonderland because the bartender was super friendly with us even though it opened at 7. He helped us get on the pink flamingo float and even gave us towels so we wouldn’t get wet. Legit one of the best experiences ever. They have cabanas and many amazing photo opportunities. Go around sunset to get the best photos and views of Seoul with mountains. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another time and place with the semi-tropical and Alice atmosphere.

What a lot of people don’t know is there is a speakeasy section of the rooftop bar. You can hit a special picture on the book case and it pops right open. You also have the option to sit at the lit up bar or smoke hookah. The list goes on and on with this super amazing hang out!

I honestly think I would have thrived through prohibition. Doing anything illegally and not getting caught is such a thrill. I imagine myself a flapper frequenting speakeasies, swearing, and doing whatever it was I pleased. (Well, I swear and do as I please now, but you get the picture, right?) I probably would have opened my own speakeasy or aided in running alcohol knowing myself. But into the rabbit hole we go with Miss Yoon and the speakeasy with top shelf liquor.

Miss Yoon in Wonderland steps it up like 10 more notches at night when everything lights up. Even the music is groovin and it’s a great place to hang out with your friends. I will definitely be back for a Friday night drink with my friends or a date. 😉 I haven’t decided yet.

How to Get There

From Gangnam Station, take exit 7. Get on Bus Seocho 9. It will take about 25 minutes to get there.

If you’re wondering why I can’t stop gushing about Miss Yoon in Wonderland, it’s because it’s literally one of my favorite places on the planet in Seoul. I had been once before but because it’s tucked in such a quaint neighborhood and unless you’re a pro at Naver Maps, it’s difficult to find. This place legitimately vibes so hard with me and I love feeling comfortable and classy in such a cool atmosphere. As someone who is always on the hunt for the coolest rooftops and hangouts, this place is Gina Bear approved and hand down, my favorite place in Seoul.
