How To Get Around Jeju Island

One of the most popular ways to get around Jeju Island is by renting your own car. It’s cheap and easy. All you need is a Korean driver’s license or your home country’s license and an accredited IDP from AAA if you’re American. You can also use the buses in Jeju and you’ll need a T-Money Card to hop on and off the bus there.

Use the Jeju City Bus

The Jeju City Bus is a great option for tourists to hop on and off whenever they desire. The bus will take you to all the most popular destinations in Jeju including the black pork restaurant street, Jeju Folklore Museum, the airport, and the ferry terminal.

Rent a Car in Jeju

Relaxed island life also means relaxed public transport. (I learned this while I was living in Okinawa.) Getting around Jeju by bus is cheaper cost wise, but it does take a lot of time. In addition, there are no trains in Jeju.

I’ve been to Jeju four times and highly recommend getting a Jeju car rental and your IDP. It gives you the freedom to see more and visit Jeju at your own pace. You can book a car in Jeju through Trazy as their deals start at $39 a day with full insurance coverage.
